Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to a device for separation of plasma or serum from a blood sample from a small blood volume (e.g. capillary blood). The device comprises a separation member, an extraction member and a housing. The extraction member comprises a base and one or more microstructures protruding from and being integrally formed with said base, wherein said one or more microstructures are configured to extract plasma or serum from said separation member by capillary forces. The present invention further provides methods for separating plasma or serum using the device according to the present invention. Similarly, also methods for analyzing one or more proteins and/or metabolites contained in plasma or serum that is separated using a device according to the present invention are provided.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un dispositif de séparation de plasma ou de sérum à partir d'un échantillon de sang d'un faible volume de sang (par exemple, du sang capillaire). Le dispositif comprend un élément de séparation, un élément d'extraction et un boîtier. L'élément d'extraction comprend une base et une ou plusieurs microstructures faisant saillie depuis et étant intégrées dans ladite base, lesdites une ou plusieurs microstructures étant configurées pour extraire du plasma ou du sérum à partir dudit élément de séparation par des forces capillaires. La présente invention concerne en outre des procédés de séparation de plasma ou de sérum au moyen du dispositif selon la présente invention. De manière similaire, l'invention concerne en outre des procédés d'analyse d'un(e) ou plusieurs protéines et/ou métabolites contenu(e)s dans du plasma ou du sérum qui est séparé au moyen d'un dispositif selon la présente invention.
