Title: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXPLORING UNDERGROUND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES BY USING GROUND WAVE
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and a method for exploring underground physical properties by using a ground wave, the system and the method extracting a ground wave from a ground wave, an air wave, and an underground scattering wave, all of which can be obtained during ground penetrating radar (GPR) exploration, so as to analyze a peak value, a sign, a time point, and the like of a signal, thereby precisely exploring the electrical properties of an underground medium such as dielectric constant and electrical conductivity. The system for exploring underground physical properties by using a ground wave, according to the present invention, comprises: a transmitting antenna configured to transmit a GPR signal; a receiving antenna configured to receive an air wave, a ground wave, and an underground scattering wave; an antenna spacing adjustment unit configured to adjust the horizontal spacing between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna; a control unit, which controls the antenna spacing adjustment unit so as to adjust the horizontal spacing between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna to a set length such that the air wave and the ground wave are separated from each other in an underground medium condition and received through the receiving antenna, transmits the GPR signal through the transmitting antenna, and receives the air wave, the ground wave, and the underground scattering wave through the receiving antenna; and a signal processing unit, which receives the air wave, the ground wave, and the underground scattering wave from the control unit, and then extracts the ground wave so as to analyze underground physical properties.
