Title: CORD FOR REINFORCING ELASTOMERS
Abstract:
Provided is a cord for reinforcing elastomers, which has excellent adhesion to an elastomer such as a rubber. A cord (10) for reinforcing elastomers, which is composed of metallic filaments (1) and resin filaments (2) twisted together, wherein each of the resin filaments (2) is made from a polymeric material having a melting point or a softening point of 80 to 160°C. The cord (10) is composed of a core and at least one sheath layer, wherein the distance w between metallic filaments (1b) that constitute an outermost sheath layer becomes 100 μm or less after vulcanization. In a region formed by connecting the centers of the metallic filaments (1b) constituting the outermost sheath layer on a cross section of the cord (10) which is taken in a direction orthogonal to the axis direction, when a portion of the region which is occupied by a material other than the metallic filaments (1) is defined as a gap region, a filling ratio, i.e., the ratio of an area of a polymeric material (3) derived from the resin filaments (2) to the area of the gap region, is 52 to 120%.
