Abstract:
(EN) Provided is an optical member with which desired light distribution characteristic can be obtained, while having a simple configuration. The optical member widens along a first surface and has a thickness in a first direction orthogonal to the first surface, and has n inclined surfaces, first through n-th inclined surfaces, that are located in regions outside of regions mutually overlapping in the first direction and that are inclined so as to each form an angle Am of less than 90° relative to the first surface and each transmit incident light. The optical member satisfies the following conditional expression (1) and conditional expression (2). WA ≥ Am-Am-1 (1), An > An-1・・・ > Am > Am-1 > ・・・A2 > A1 (2), where: WA is an angle equivalent to no more than the half-value width of the light distribution of incident light; Am is the angle formed by the m-th inclined surface relative to the first surface; Am-1 is the angle formed by the m-1-th inclined surface relative to the first surface; and n is a natural number 2 or greater, and m is any natural number not greater than n.
