Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to suppress signal-to-noise ratio degradation and enhance distance resolution in radar for measuring distance and relative speed using a frequency modulation method. A radar circuit according to the present invention is provided with: a signal generation unit for generating a transmission signal for a transmission wave, a modulation control unit for controlling the frequency modulation of the transmission signal, a reception-side circuit unit for detecting a detection signal on the basis of the frequency difference between a reception signal for a reception wave and the transmission signal, and a signal processing unit for calculating distance and relative speed by carrying out analysis on the basis of the detection signal. The waveform of the frequency modulation of the transmission signal has a plurality of (n) sub-waveforms (linear parts 301-30n) having a positive or negative modulation frequency slope. If, for example, the slope is positive, then for each pair of adjacent sub-waveforms, the starting frequency of the following sub-waveform will be larger than the ending frequency of the prior sub-waveform (for example, Fs2 > Fe1).
