Abstract:
Provided is a low-power-consumption display device that optimizes an operation method in accordance with the resolution and frame frequency of content. The display device has a display unit and an image-receiving device. When the resolution of content is lower than the resolution that the display device can display, a source driver and a gate driver of the display unit output signals to a plurality of source lines and gate lines and operate at a lower operation frequency. Additionally, the source driver and the gate driver lower power source voltage for a logic circuit part thereof. When the frame frequency of content is lower than the frame frequency that can be displayed by the display device, the source driver and the gate driver of the display unit operate at a lower operation frequency and lower the power source voltage for the logic circuit part thereof. The image-receiving device detects the resolution and frame frequency of content.
