Abstract:
The invention relates to an instrument for in situ measurement of the angle of convergence (AC) of a dental preparation or stump (20) in the field of dentistry, applied to human beings or another species, which comprises a movable bar (2) and a supporting bar (3) arranged parallel to one another and coupled perpendicular and slidable relative to a central bar (1) by means of a first guiding hole at one end of the central bar and a second guiding hole at one end of the supporting bar (3), which allow the relative vertical movement of the movable bar (2) and the relative horizontal movement of the supporting bar (3), allowing the two bars (2 and 3) to be adjusted to the base of the stump (20), in which the movable bar (2) is arranged so as to rest on the outer-mouth wall of the stump by means of a vertical movement relative to the central bar (1), a first screw (6) makes it possible to fix the position of the movable bar, the supporting bar (3) is arranged so as to be adjusted in contact with the base of the stump (20) by means of a horizontal movement relative to the central bar (1), a second screw (7) makes it possible to fix the position of the supporting bar, at the distal end of the supporting bar (3) is mounted a measurement rod (4) that is straight, thin and Y-shaped with parallel upper ends, and that can pivot about a pin (12), a double ruler (5) on either side of the supporting bar (3) is graded with angles, and the upper ends of the measurement rod (4) can pass over the ruler (5) allowing the reading of the AC from both sides, by simple parallax.
