Abstract:
The invention relates to a method (100) for detecting a gaseous substance in a gas mixture, wherein a first measurement variable (K1) which represents a first chemical and/or physical parameter of the gas mixture is detected, and at least one second measurement variable (M) which represents a second chemical and/or physical parameter of the gas mixture that is different from the first parameter is detected. A starting time (tS) and a starting measurement variable (KStart) of the first parameter corresponding to the starting time (tS) are ascertained when the value of a time derivative of the first measurement variable (K1) exceeds a first specified threshold (SW1) and the value of a time derivative of the second measurement variable (M) exceeds a second specified threshold (SW2). At least one additional first measurement variable (K2) is detected, and an ending time (tE) is ascertained when the at least one additional first measurement variable (K2) corresponds to the starting measurement variable (KStart), wherein an output signal (10) is generated if the value of the difference between the ending time (tE) and the starting time (tS) is greater than a specified minimum time period (tmin).
