Title: GENE FOR REGULATING CROP DWARF AND YIELD AND APPLICATION THEREOF
Abstract:
Provided are a gene SBI and SBI mutant protein for regulating crop dwarf and yield, and use thereof for regulating agronomic characters of crops. The agronomic characters are selected from one or more of (i) plant height, (ii) tiller number, (iii) grain weight per plant, and (iv) yield. The 308th amino acid (aspartic acid) of dwarf related proteins in the crop is mutated into asparagine, and/or the 338th amino acid (glycine) is mutated into arginine to significantly decrease the content of activated gibberellin GA1/GA9, and significantly increase the content of deactivated gibberellin GA8/GA51/GA29, so as to significantly decrease the plant height and improve the lodging-resistance capability of the crops.
