Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention relates to the technical field of communications and provides a reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer, which may solve the problem wherein existing reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers (ROADMs) are highly sensitive to the polarization of an input optical signal, and may further solve the problem wherein optical path complexity and insertion loss are increased following an increase in dimensions. The reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer comprises: N input ports, N output ports, M upload ports, and M download ports; each input port and each upload port are connected to a first polarizer; each output port and each download port are connected to a second polarizer; a first end of the first polarizer is connected to a second end of the first polarizer to form a loop comprising the first polarizer; a first end of the second polarizer is connected to a second end of the second polarizer to form a loop comprising the second polarizer; an annular waveguide array is present between a loop LIi and a loop LOj, and a second annular waveguide group is present between the loop LIi and a loop LDk.
