Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to hybrid sheet comprising: i) high- performance polyethylene (HPPE) fibers; ii) a polymeric resin, wherein the polymeric resin is selected from a group consisting of a homopolymer of ethylene, a homopolymer of propylene, a copolymer of ethylene, and a copolymer of propylene and wherein said polymeric resin has a density as measured according to ISO1183-2004 in the range from 860 to 970 kg/m3, a peak melting temperature in the range from 40 to 140°C and a heat of fusion of at least 5 J/g; iii) non-polymeric fibers; and iv) optionally, a matrix material. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a process to manufacture the hybrid sheet and to the use of the hybrid sheet in various fields, such as in automotive field, in aerospace field, in sports equipment, in marine field, in military field; and in wind and renewable energy field.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une feuille hybride comprenant : i) des fibres de polyéthylène haute performance (HPPE) ; ii) une résine polymère, la résine polymère étant sélectionnée dans un groupe constitué d’un homopolymère d’éthylène, d’un homopolymère de propylène, d’un copolymère d’éthylène, et d’un copolymère de propylène et ladite résine polymère présentant une densité telle que mesurée selon la norme (ISO1183-2004) située dans la plage de 860 à 970 kg/m3, une température de fusion pic dans la plage de 40 à 140 °C et une chaleur de fusion d’au moins 5 J/g ; iii) des fibres non polymères ; et iv) éventuellement, un matériau formant matrice. En outre, la présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de la feuille hybride et l’utilisation de la feuille hybride dans divers domaines, tels que le secteur automobile, le secteur aérospatial, dans les équipements sportifs, dans le secteur maritime, dans le secteur militaire ; et dans le domaine de l’énergie éolienne et renouvelable.
