Abstract:
(EN) Electro-holographic light field generator devices comprising surface acoustic wave (SAW) optical modulators are disclosed that employ multiple output couplers. These output couplers might be distributed along waveguides of the SAW modulators, within output coupling regions. Each of these output couplers can be configured for directing an incident leaky mode light at different output angles. In some cases, it may be desirable to employ the output couplers to function as different sub-pixels, to provide light to different viewing directions. The output couplers may be mirrors, volume gratings, chirped gratings, reflection gratings, two dimensional gratings, and/or transmission gratings. The output couplers may be angled so that the coupling output fans for each optical modulator are offset from the waveguide for that optical modulator.
(FR) L'invention concerne des dispositifs générateurs de champ lumineux électro-holographiques comprenant des modulateurs optiques à ondes acoustiques de surface (SAW) qui utilisent de multiples coupleurs de sortie. Ces coupleurs de sortie peuvent être répartis le long de guides d'ondes des modulateurs SAW, à l'intérieur de régions de couplage de sortie. Chacun de ces coupleurs de sortie peut être conçu pour diriger une lumière de mode de fuite incidente selon différents angles de sortie. Dans certains cas, il peut être souhaitable d'utiliser les coupleurs de sortie en vue d'un fonctionnement en tant que sous-pixels différents, pour fournir de la lumière vers différentes directions de visualisation. Les coupleurs de sortie peuvent être des miroirs, des réseaux de volume, des réseaux à compression d'impulsions, des réseaux de réflexion, des réseaux bidimensionnels et/ou des réseaux de transmission. Les coupleurs de sortie peuvent être inclinés de sorte que les ventilateurs de sortie de couplage de chaque modulateur optique soient décalés par rapport au guide d'ondes dudit modulateur optique.
