Abstract:
(EN) A process gas (such as a hydrocarbon gas) is flowed through a thermal cracking apparatus to crack the process gas into constituent components (such as hydrogen gas and solid carbon nano-particles, e.g., carbon nano-onions, necked carbon nano-onions, carbon nanospheres, graphene, graphite, highly ordered pyrolytic graphite, single walled nanotubes, and/or multi-walled nanotubes). The thermal cracking apparatus has an elongated heating element disposed within an inner volume along a longitudinal axis thereof. The elongated heating element heats the process gas as it flows within a longitudinal elongated reaction zone to thermally crack molecules of the process gas into the constituent components of the molecules.
(FR) Selon la présente invention, un gaz de transformation (tel qu’un gaz d’hydrocarbure) est amené à s’écouler à travers un appareil de craquage thermique pour craquer le gaz de transformation en composants constitutifs (tels que l’hydrogène gazeux et des nanoparticules de carbone solides, par exemple des nano-oignons de carbone, des nano-oignons de carbone à étranglement, des nanosphères de carbone, du graphène, du graphite, du graphite pyrolytique hautement ordonné, des nanotubes à simple paroi et/ou des nanotubes à parois multiples). L’appareil de craquage thermique comporte un élément chauffant allongé disposé dans un volume interne le long d’un axe longitudinal de celui-ci. L’élément chauffant allongé chauffe le gaz de transformation alors qu’il s’écoule dans une zone de réaction allongée longitudinale pour craquer thermiquement des molécules du gaz de traitement en composants constitutifs des molécules.
