Title: METHOD FOR THE ELECTROCHEMICAL TREATMENT OF FREELY DISPERSED SYSTEMS
Abstract:
A method for the electrochemical treatment of freely dispersed systems, including water for domestic and industrial water supply, can be used in the execution of any type of water disposal and treatment measures in any branch of industry. The claimed method reduces the energy efficiency of the presence of any type of inhomogeneities in a solvent, i.e. the solvation (hydration) energy, and is carried out by placing electrodes in a flow of a freely dispersed system having second-order ionic conductivity as in an electrically active medium, said electrodes being polarizable relative to the freely dispersed system, to create a potential difference across an electrode pair as a result of an electrode area ratio that is not equal to one, and by creating an impedance on an electrode pair(s), wherein the potential difference across said electrode pair(s) must be maintained at not equal to 0 V. This accelerates the phase separation and phase mixing processes in settling tanks, is independent of mass transfer and the volume of liquid passing over the electrode pairs, is independent of chemical and phase composition, can be used in “closed” and “open” systems, is highly adaptable, does not have any limitations in terms of quality characteristics, is long-lived, intensifies phase separation and increases the through-put rate.
