Abstract:
The present invention provides a suspension structure for easily and reliably conveying an optical fiber parent material into a drawing furnace, a suspension method, and a method for producing an optical fiber. This suspension structure (100) is designed to convey an optical parent material (10) into a drawing furnace, and has a suspension part (12) formed as a recess, projection or hole on a dummy rod part (11) connected to an upper part of the optical parent material (10) to be conveyed into the drawing furnace. The suspension structure (100) is provided with: a joining mechanism (20) that has an arm part (30) covering at least a part of the periphery of the dummy rod part (11) and extends out on both sides othogonally to the drawing direction, and a holding part (25) that is engaged with the suspension part (12) and holds the optical parent material (10); and an engagement mechanism (50) having a gripping part (60) that is engaged with the arm part (30) and suspends the optical parent material (10).
