Abstract:
This positive electrode active material for lithium secondary batteries contains an active material powder that includes secondary particles, each of which is composed of aggregated primary particles that are able to be doped/undoped with lithium ions. This positive electrode active material for lithium secondary batteries contains secondary particles that internally have voids; and the pore distribution of this positive electrode active material for lithium secondary batteries as determined by mercury intrusion porosimetry satisfies the requirements (1) and (2) described below. (1) The pore distribution has a pore peak within the pore radius range of from 10 nm to 200 nm (inclusive). (2) The pore distribution has three or more inflection points of the cumulative pore volume within the pore radius range of from 10 nm to 3,000 nm (inclusive).
