Abstract:
A parallax detecting unit 36a detects parallax at a second viewpoint relative to a first viewpoint including white pixels and color component pixels, on the basis of a first imaging signal PS-H of the first viewpoint and a second imaging signal PS-C of the second viewpoint, different from the first viewpoint, having fewer white pixels and a larger proportion of color component pixels than the first imaging signal. A parallax compensating unit 37 subjects the second viewpoint imaging signal to parallax compensation on the basis of the parallax detected by the parallax detecting unit 36a, to generate a parallax compensation color-difference signal for the first viewpoint. A fallback determining unit 38 and a signal selecting unit 41 select either a parallax compensation second color-difference signal or the first viewpoint color-difference signal to obtain a high-sensitivity captured image while suppressing a deterioration in image quality, in accordance with a risk of image quality deterioration in a fusion process performed with respect to the first viewpoint color-difference signal using the parallax compensation second color-difference signal.
