Abstract:
An optical transmitter (1) includes: a semiconductor laser unit (11) for outputting laser light having first output power (P0), and outputting a monitor current (Im); a casing of an optical module (10) holding an optical fiber (70); a monitor current detection unit (20) for generating a monitor voltage (Vm); a laser driving unit (30) for controlling a laser driving current (Id) so that the monitor voltage (Vm) approaches a target voltage (Vr); a storage unit (40) for storing information based on the measurement result of the ratio, to the first output power (P0), of second output power (P1) of laser light output through the optical fiber (70); a target voltage determination unit (52) for changing the target voltage (Vr) by using a detection temperature (T1) of a temperature sensor (51) and the information based on the measurement result; and a power monitor value determination unit (53) for generating a power monitor value (Vm1) indicating the second output power (P1) to be transmitted to a host device, by using the detection temperature (T1) and the information based on the measurement result.
