Abstract:
This engine ignition method involves: providing an ignition coil and an exciter coil inside a permanent magnet generator driven by the engine; charging an ignition capacitor using the output voltage from the exciter coil; thereafter, generating a first spark discharge in a spark plug by applying a high voltage induced in the secondary coil of the ignition coil to the spark plug, by discharging the ignition capacitor through a primary coil of the ignition coil during the engine ignition period; and generating a second spark discharge in the spark plug by applying a voltage induced in the secondary coil of the ignition coil as the permanent magnet rotor rotates to the spark plug, the discharge gap isolation of which has been disrupted by the first spark discharge.
