Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing an extrusion die, in particular an extrusion die for the extrusion processing of a metallic extrusion material, in particular comprising aluminium and/or an Al alloy, wherein the method comprises - building up additively, in particular layer by layer, a tool substrate body (10; 12) from a powdered, at least partly metallic material by introducing laser energy that at least partially melts the material, in particular by an SLM, EBM and/or LBM method; - during the additive buildup, forming a cooling channel (16, 18; 26, 28) intended for conducting and guiding the flow of an extrusion-die cooling fluid through the die substrate body; - building up an extrusion-channel contact surface (20; 22) intended for interacting with the ductile extrusion material during an extrusion operation, on the additively built-up die substrate body and above and/or alongside the cooling channel such that at least one portion of the cooling channel in the die substrate body runs parallel or at a predetermined angle to a direction of extent of the contact surface and/or a portion of the cooling channel in the substrate body follows a contour or a contour profile of the contact surface; and - carrying out a CVD coating process for depositing a C- and N -containing coating on the extrusion-channel contact surface.
