Abstract:
A light source device and a display device. The light source device comprises: a first substrate (01) and a second substrate (02), which are arranged opposite to each other; a waveguide layer (03) arranged between the first substrate (01) and the second substrate (02); and an edge light type collimating light source (04) arranged on an edge of the waveguide layer (03). The refractive index of the waveguide layer (03) is larger than that of the first substrate (01) and that of the second substrate (02); light from the edge light type collimating light source (04) incidents on the edge of the waveguide layer (03) at a preset angle, and the total reflection of the incident light occurs only at an interface between the first substrate (01) and the waveguide layer (03). Using the principle of total reflection, the light from the edge light type collimating light source (04) is totally reflected at the interface between the waveguide layer (03) and the first substrate (01), and is refracted at an interface between the waveguide layer (03) and the second substrate (02), that is, radiated and emitted from a surface of the second substrate (02), thereby achieving an ultra-high single-sided light emission efficiency of the light source device.
