Abstract:
(EN) Polyamide compositions for use in forming wire or cable jacket compositions. The polyamide compositions include a component of polyamide 6/66 copolymer formed from substantially randomly distributed caprolactam monomers and hexamethylene diamine monomers. The polyamide 6/66 copolymer component may form the entirety of the polyamide composition or alternatively, the polyamide composition may include an amount of polyamide 6 homopolymer blended with the polyamide 6/66 copolymer component. The composition also includes one or more additives, such as at least one UV mitigation component which, due to the reduced crystallinity of the polyamide 6/66 copolymer component, is incorporated into the polyamide composition with desirable transmission and haze characteristics as well as providing for retention of physical properties such as tensile strength at break and elongation at break.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des compositions de polyamide destinées à être utilisées dans la formation de compositions de gaine de câble ou de fil. Les compositions de polyamide comprennent un composant copolymère de polyamide 6/66 formé à partir de monomères de caprolactame distribués de manière sensiblement aléatoire et de monomères d'hexaméthylène diamine. Le composant copolymère de polyamide 6/66 peut former la totalité de la composition de polyamide ou, en variante, la composition de polyamide peut comprendre une certaine quantité d'homopolymère de polyamide 6 mélangé avec le composant copolymère de polyamide 6/66. La composition comprend également un ou plusieurs additifs, tels qu'au moins un composant d'atténuation d'UV qui, en raison de la cristallinité réduite du composant copolymère de polyamide 6/66, est incorporé dans la composition de polyamide avec des caractéristiques de transmission et de trouble souhaitables, tout en assurant la rétention de propriétés physiques telles que la résistance à la traction à la rupture et l'allongement à la rupture.
