Abstract:
A footwear (10A, 10B, 10) sole structure (14A, 14B, 14) having a fluid-filled chamber (38) including a tensile member (36) is provided. The fluid-filled chamber (38) includes a first barrier sheet (32, 34), a second barrier sheet (32, 34) and the tensile member (36). The first barrier sheet (32, 34) is formed from a first thermoplastic material (2). The second barrier sheet (32, 34) is attached to the first barrier sheet (32, 34) and is formed from a second thermoplastic material (2). The first barrier sheet (32, 34) and the second barrier sheet (32, 34) cooperate to define an internal cavity (50). The tensile member (36) is disposed within the internal cavity (50) and is formed from a third thermoplastic material (2). A first weld (52) attaches the first barrier sheet (32, 34), the second barrier sheet (32, 34), and the tensile member (36) together by melding the first thermoplastic material (2) of the first barrier sheet (32, 34), the second thermoplastic material (2) of second barrier sheet (32, 34), and the third thermoplastic material (2) of the tensile member (36). A footwear (10A, 10B, 10) sole structure (14A, 14B, 14) having a fluid-filled chamber (38) including a tensile member (36) is provided. The fluid-filled chamber (38) includes a first barrier sheet (32, 34), a second barrier sheet (32, 34) and the tensile member (36). The first barrier sheet (32, 34) is formed from a first thermoplastic material (2). The second barrier sheet (32, 34) is attached to the first barrier sheet (32, 34) and is formed from a second thermoplastic material (2). The first barrier sheet (32, 34) and the second barrier sheet (32, 34) cooperate to define an internal cavity (50). The tensile member (36) is disposed within the internal cavity (50) and is formed from a third thermoplastic material (2). A first weld (52) attaches the first barrier sheet (32, 34), the second barrier sheet (32, 34), and the tensile member (36) together by melding the first thermoplastic material (2) of the first barrier sheet (32, 34), the second thermoplastic material (2) of second barrier sheet (32, 34), and the third thermoplastic material (2) of the tensile member (36).
