Abstract:
(EN) A method for reducing or removing biofilm on a target prosthesis or instrument surface includes providing a coupling space or antechamber between the operative tip or end of an ultrasonic probe and the target surface. The space or antechamber is fillable with a liquid irrigant to transmit ultrasonic vibration and facilitate extraction of biofilm fragments including potentially pathogenic particles.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de réduire ou éliminer un biofilm sur une prothèse cible ou une surface d'instrument qui consiste à fournir un espace d'accouplement ou une antichambre entre la pointe fonctionnelle ou l'extrémité d'une sonde ultrasonore et la surface cible. L'espace ou l'antichambre peut être remplie d’un agent d'irrigation liquide pour transmettre des vibrations ultrasonores et faciliter l'extraction de fragments de biofilm contenant des particules potentiellement pathogènes.
