Abstract:
(EN) This invention describes a method and apparatus for the capture, storage and release of carbon dioxide for use in the horticulture industry, the method including reduction of a transition metal oxide to form a transition metal and carbon dioxide; carburization or partial carburization of the transition metal to form metal carbide; carbonation of an alkaline metal oxide or alkaline earth metal oxide to form an alkaline metal carbonate or alkaline earth metal carbonate; contacting the metal carbide with air to produce a transition metal oxide and carbon dioxide; and calcining the alkaline metal carbonate or alkaline earth metal carbonate to form carbon dioxide and alkaline metal oxide or alkaline earth metal oxide. Also described is a sorbent material for use in the method and apparatus of the invention.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de capture, de stockage et de libération de dioxyde de carbone, destinés à être utilisés dans l'industrie de l'horticulture, le procédé comprenant la réduction d'un oxyde de métal de transition afin de former un métal de transition et du dioxyde de carbone ; la carburation ou la carburation partielle du métal de transition afin de former un carbure de métal ; la carbonatation d'un oxyde de métal alcalin ou d'un oxyde de métal alcalino-terreux afin de former un carbonate de métal alcalin ou un carbonate de métal alcalino-terreux ; la mise en contact du carbure de métal avec de l'air afin de produire un oxyde de métal de transition et du dioxyde de carbone ; et la calcination du carbonate de métal alcalin ou du carbonate de métal alcalino-terreux afin de former du dioxyde de carbone et un oxyde de métal alcalin ou un oxyde de métal alcalino-terreux. Un matériau absorbant ou adsorbant, destiné à être utilisé dans le procédé et l'appareil de l'invention, est également décrit.
