Provided is a pneumatic tire enabling both the improved maneuvering stability performance on a dry road surface and improved maneuvering stability performance on a wet road surface, which are achieved by appropriately shaping chamfers located at sipes into an appropriate shape. A sipe 11 has a leading ground contacting edge 11A and a trailing ground contacting edge 11B, each of the leading ground contacting edge 11A and the trailing ground contacting edge 11B has formed thereon a chamfered section 12 having a length smaller than the length L of the sipe 11, the portions of the sipe 11, which face the chamfered sections 12, have non-chamfered regions 13 where there are no chamfered sections, the maximum depth y (mm) of the chamfered sections 12 is less than the maximum depth x (mm) of the sipe 11, the width W of the sipe 11 in the portion thereof extending from the end 121 of the chamfered section 12, which is located on the inner side of the chamfered section 12 in the radial direction of the tire, to the bottom of the sipe 11 is constant, and a raised section 14 is disposed at at least a portion of each of the chamfered sections 12.
