This aerodynamic component (11), which is disposed on the sides of the rear upper portion of the body of an automobile so as to reduce the lift coefficient at the rear of the vehicle body, comprises a plate-shaped base portion (14), and fins (15, 16) provided in a protruding manner on the surface (14d) of the base portion (14). Since the base portion (14) increases in thickness gradually from the front edge (14b) side to the rear edge (14c) side and has a shape that rises steeply with respect to the side surface of the rear upper portion of the vehicle body at the rear edge (14c), the aerodynamic component (11) generates a turbulent vortex in the airflow passing the rear upper portion of the vehicle body, reduces the lift coefficient (CLr) at the rear of the vehicle body, and ensures the vertical load of the rear wheels, thereby allowing an improvement in steering stability. Furthermore, by stabilizing the turbulent vortices on both side surfaces of the vehicle body by the fins (15, 16) provided to the base portion (14), it is possible not only to reduce lateral vibrations of the vehicle body and improve sensitivity to external disturbances but also to reduce the vortices from rolling up the side surfaces of the vehicle body to the rear surface of the vehicle body to minimize the occurrence of a dead-air regions and contribute to a reduction in pressure resistance.
