A transfer device is provided with: an output port determination unit that determines, on the basis of stored information stored in an input frame, an output port through which the frame is output, the output port being determined from among a plurality of ports; an allocating unit that associates, on a one-to-one basis, an output port through which a frame to be transferred using a cut-through method is output, with an input port to which the frame is input, and that, on the basis of type information on the input port to which the frame has been input, class information on the frame, and the output port determined by the output port determination unit, allocates a first frame to a first path through which transfer using the cut-through method is performed and allocates a second frame to a second path through which transfer using a store and forward method is performed; and an IET output control unit that outputs the first frame through the output port, determines whether or not to divide the second frame on the basis of the class information on the second frame, and outputs the second frame through the output port on the basis of the determination. As a result, the transfer device can implement an IET low-latency transfer function with simpler control than conventional transfer devices.
