Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method for customers to use a 3D visualization of real-world products to create customized surface-designs using projection- texture alone. The method comprises projecting one or more 2D images consecutively onto a virtual 3D object, dividing surface of said object into projection-texture mesh surfaces, unwrapping the 3D object on each projection- texture mesh surface to obtain a UV-map for generating a 2D print file to be used in creating a replica result of the 3D visualisation in real-world. In the case of products which require stitching to be constructed in real-world, the present disclosure also provides a solution for adding seam-allowance to the print-files in a manner which resolves the apparent discontinuity caused by the stitching process, despite even adding normal seam-allowance; this method ensures an illusion of continuity where without it a noticeable discontinuity at the seam would have otherwise existed.
