Abstract:
The present invention relates, mainly, to a method for preparing sulphur-doped multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT)) by a CVD technique, involving the thermal decomposition of a gaseous stream, source of carbon and sulphur, in contact with the reduced form of a metal catalyst, characterised in that, prior to being placed in contact with said gaseous stream, source of carbon and sulphur, said catalyst is placed in contact with a gaseous stream which contains at least one hydrocarbon compound and is free of heteroatom source compound, under favourable conditions for initiating the growth of carbon nanotubes. The invention also relates to sulphur-doped multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) according to the invention.
