Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a laser assembly. In a laser assembly, a laser beam is focused on a machining/imaging plane, and the intensity distribution of the laser beam can be adapted by means of at least one beam shaper. The laser beam is divided into at least one additional second sub-beam by means of a beam splitter, and deviations of the beam profile from a target beam profile are determined in a first sub-beam. A compensation beam profile is calculated for the at least second sub-beam from the difference to the target beam profile, and the second sub-beam is modulated by means of at least one second beam shaper. The first sub-beam and the at least second sub-beam are superimposed by means of a beam combiner and are focused onto the machining/imaging plane. Thus, interference speckle patterns are not removed but rather are compensated for, whereby the beam quality can be substantially improved in particular for laser machining processes or laser projections.
