(EN) A method and system for authenticating an item includes irradiating the item, the item including a polymer substrate including a polymer material and a doping material and configured to emit a radiation spectrum having a spectral signature in response to the irradiating, the doping material capable of absorbing or scattering radiation at a specific wavelength to generate the spectral signature, detecting the spectral signature, and determining a code associated with the spectral signature.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système d'authentification d'un article qui consiste à irradier l'article, l'article comprenant un substrat polymère comprenant un matériau polymère et un matériau dopant et étant configuré pour émettre un spectre de rayonnement ayant une signature spectrale en réponse à l'irradiation, le matériau dopant étant susceptible d'absorber ou de diffuser un rayonnement à une longueur d'onde spécifique afin de générer la signature spectrale, de détecter la signature spectrale, et de déterminer un code associé à la signature spectrale.
