Abstract:
(EN) A brake system for a vehicle comprises a driver operable brake pedal coupled to control a brake pressure generating unit to supply hydraulic brake pressure to front and rear hydraulically actuated wheel brakes, and wherein the rear wheel brakes are also configured to be electrically actuated; a sensor arrangement for monitoring the driver' s braking intent; the brake system operable in a first mode wherein the front and rear brakes are both hydraulically actuated, and a second mode wherein the front brakes are hydraulically actuated and the rear brakes are electrically actuated, the rear brakes include a caliper assembly including brake pads operable to engage a brake rotor to brake the vehicle, the caliper assembly including a hydraulic actuating mechanism and an electric actuating mechanism, a control connected to the sensor arrangement for operating the electric actuating mechanism to actuate the rear brakes as a function of the driver' s braking demand.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système de freinage, pour un véhicule, qui comprend une pédale de frein pouvant être actionnée par un conducteur couplée afin de commander une unité de génération de pression de freinage pour fournir une pression de freinage hydraulique à des freins de roue avant et arrière actionnés hydrauliquement, les freins de roue arrière étant également configurés de sorte à être actionnés électriquement ; un agencement de capteur permettant de surveiller l'intention de freinage du conducteur ; le système de freinage pouvant fonctionner dans un premier mode dans lequel les freins avant et arrière sont tous deux actionnés hydrauliquement et un second mode dans lequel les freins avant sont actionnés hydrauliquement et les freins arrière sont actionnés électriquement, les freins arrière comprenant un ensemble étrier comprenant des plaquettes de frein pouvant être actionnées pour entrer en prise avec un disque de frein afin de freiner le véhicule, l'ensemble étrier comprenant un mécanisme d'actionnement hydraulique et un mécanisme d'actionnement électrique, une commande reliée à l'agencement de capteur permettant d'actionner le mécanisme d'actionnement électrique pour actionner les freins arrière en fonction de l'instruction de freinage du conducteur.
