Problem: To provide a receiving device and a wireless communication system with which it is possible to select an antenna combination the average mutual information amount of which is largest and prevent the degradation of the bit error rate. Solution: A receiving device equipped with a plurality of antennas, wherein demodulation units 13-1, 13-2, 13-3 calculate a coded bit LLR from a received signal per antenna combination, mutual information amount calculation units 16-1, 16-2, 16-3 calculate the mutual information amount regarding the coded bit LLR per antenna combination, average the result, and find the average mutual information amount, an antenna combination selection unit 17 specifies an antenna combination yielding the largest average mutual information amount and outputs determination information d, a signal selection unit 18 selects a demodulated signal on the basis of the determination information d, and a decoding unit 19 decodes the selected demodulated signal; and a wireless communication system.
