Abstract:
Provided are an endoscope system, a processor device, and an endoscope system operation method capable of determining an image capture scene more easily and more robustly than previously and automatically setting a condition for image processing or image capturing suitable for the image capture scene. An endoscope system 10 is provided with: an image acquisition unit 54 that acquires an endoscope image obtained by imaging a subject to be observed; a baseline information calculation unit 86 that, by use of the endoscope image or an endoscope image 101 for display generated by use of the endoscope image, calculates baseline information, which is information about light scattering characteristics or light absorption characteristics of the subject to be observed and is information not depending on at least specific biological information; an image capture scene determination unit 87 that, by use of the baseline information, determines the image capture scene; and a condition setting unit 88 that, by use of a determination result of the image capture scene determination unit, sets the condition for image capturing or image processing.
