Abstract:
The invention relates to a multi-chamber melting furnace for melting scrap consisting of non-ferrous metals, in particular aluminium scrap, said furnace having a first shaft furnace (10) with a shaft (11) for charge material, in which shaft impurities can be removed from the charge material, and at least one furnace chamber (12) which is connected to the shaft (11) of the first shaft furnace (10) and has a first device (13) for supplying heat, characterised by at least one second shaft furnace (14) with a shaft (15) for charge material, in which shaft impurities can be removed from the charge material, wherein the furnace chamber (12) is connected to the shaft (15) of the second shaft furnace (14) and is arranged between the shafts (11, 15) such that the furnace chamber (12) forms a main melting chamber in which the melt bath is situated during operation.
