Abstract:
(EN) The invention relates to steel-rule cutting dies having a die block with at least one kerf configured to receive a corresponding steel-rule intended to be partially inserted into the kerf. The die block also has at least one element having magnetic properties, such as for instance a magnet, located or embedded in proximity to each kerf for providing a magnetic field that retains the steel-rule when the steel-rule is received into the corresponding kerf. The presence of the magnetic element(s) in proximity to the kerf(s) allows maintaining the corresponding rule(s) in position within its kerf even if the kerf is cut "loosely". The corresponding rule may be quickly and easily inserted and accurately maintained even if the die block expand or retract under atmospheric variations. Among other advantages, the invention allows better stability of the cutting-die, faster leveling on press, and increased the number of re-knifing and longer run¬ time.
(FR) L'invention concerne des matrices de coupe à bande d'acier ayant un bloc de matrice ayant au moins une saignée conçue pour recevoir une bande d'acier correspondante destinée à être partiellement insérée dans la saignée. Le bloc de matrice a également au moins un élément ayant des propriétés magnétiques, comme par exemple un aimant, situé ou intégré à proximité de chaque saignée pour fournir un champ magnétique qui retient la bande d'acier lorsque la bande d'acier est reçue dans la saignée correspondante. La présence du ou des éléments magnétiques à proximité de la ou des saignées permet de maintenir la ou les bandes correspondantes en position dans sa/leur saignée même si la saignée est coupée « de manière lâche ». La bande correspondante peut être rapidement et facilement insérée et maintenue avec précision même si le bloc de matrice se dilate ou se rétracte sous l'effet des variations atmosphériques. Parmi d'autres avantages, l'invention permet une meilleure stabilité de la matrice de coupe et une mise à niveau plus rapide sur la presse, augmente le nombre de recoupements et prolonge la durée de fonctionnement.
