(EN) A linear friction-joining device (1) having a pressing device (10) that presses one member (A) toward another member (B) in a pressing direction and an excitation device (20) that relatively excites the one member (A) and the other member (B), wherein the linear friction-joining device (1) has: a control device (40) that, after the one member (A) is brought into contact with the other member (B) by position control based on a detection result from a position sensor (30, 31), switches to a load control based on a detection result from a load sensor (32, 320, 321) and increases a pressing load in progress toward a joining load; and a joining-load-arrival-time adjustment unit (40, 42, 43, 60) that adjusts the length of a joint load arrival time (t), which is the time until the pressing load arrives at the joining load.
