(EN) The present invention concerns a control unit (50) for a fast discharge and/or shut down unit (30) of a battery cell (10), the control unit (50) comprising (i) a control part (51) configured to control the operation of the fast discharge and/or shut down unit (30) depending on the existence or non-existence of a fast discharge and/or shut down state and (ii) an actuating and/or signaling part (52) configured to detect and signal to the controlling part (51) the existence or non-existence of a fast discharge and/or shut down state, wherein the actuating and/or signaling part (52) is configured to be located externally and/or remotely to the battery cell (10), the fast discharge and/or shut down unit (30) and/or the control part (51).
