Abstract
(EN) A system and method for removing nitrogen and producing a high pressure methane product stream and an NGL product stream from natural gas feed streams where at least 90%, and preferably at least 95%, of the ethane in the feed stream is recovered in the NGL product stream. The system and method of the invention are particularly suitable for use with feed streams in excess of 5 MMSCFD and up to 300 MMSCFD and containing around 5% to 80% nitrogen. The system and method preferably combine use of strategic heat exchange between various process streams with a high pressure rectifier tower and the ability to divert all or a portion of a nitrogen rejection unit feed stream to optionally bypass a nitrogen fractionation column to reduce capital costs and operating expenses.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système et un procédé d'élimination d'azote et de production d'un courant de produit méthane à haute pression et d'un courant de produit LGN à partir de courants d'alimentation en gaz naturel, au moins 90 %, et de préférence au moins 95 %, de l'éthane dans le courant d'alimentation étant récupéré dans le courant de produit LGN. Le système et le procédé selon l'invention se prêtent particulièrement à être utilisés avec des courants d'alimentation supérieurs à 5 MMSCFD et allant jusqu'à 300 MMSCFD, et contenant environ 5 % à 80 % d'azote. Le système et le procédé combinent de préférence l'utilisation d'un échange de chaleur stratégique entre divers courants de traitement avec une tour de rectification à haute pression et la capacité de détourner tout ou partie d'un courant d'alimentation de l'unité de rejet d'azote, afin de contourner éventuellement une colonne de fractionnement d'azote dans le but de réduire les coûts de capital et les dépenses de fonctionnement.
