Systems and methods to confirm safe delivery of treatment energy to a patient by identifying a presence of a fault in an energy delivery pathway and identifying a location of the fault within the device. The system includes a processing unit configured to calculate blood impedances external to the device based on known impedance characteristics of the device, and then to calculate impedances within the device during energy delivery based on the calculated blood impedances. The processing unit prevents the delivery of energy in an energy delivery pathway that is determined to be compromised. The processing unit is also configured to compare times for two different frequencies to travel a predetermined distance, the difference in the times corresponding to a location of a fault within the energy delivery pathway.

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés pour confirmer une distribution sûre d'énergie de traitement à un patient par identification d'une présence d'un défaut dans un trajet de distribution d'énergie et identification d'un emplacement du défaut dans le dispositif. Le système comprend une unité de traitement configurée pour calculer des impédances sanguines externes au dispositif sur la base des caractéristiques d'impédance connues du dispositif, puis pour calculer des impédances dans le dispositif pendant la distribution d'énergie sur la base des impédances sanguines calculées. L'unité de traitement empêche la distribution d'énergie dans une voie de distribution d'énergie qui est déterminée comme étant compromise. L'unité de traitement est également configurée pour comparer des temps pour deux fréquences différentes pour parcourir une distance prédéterminée, la différence dans les temps correspondant à un emplacement d'un défaut dans la voie de distribution d'énergie.
