A negative electrode which comprises, on the surface of a conductive substrate, a catalyst layer that contains at least platinum, and which is characterized in that: the conductive substrate is a mesh which is configured of metal wires that contain a metal containing nickel; and (a) the weight per square meter of the catalyst layer is from 6.0 g/m2 to 40.0 g/m2 (inclusive) and the weight per square meter of platinum is from 5.5 g/m2 to 25.0 g/m2 (inclusive), or (b) the average thickness of the catalyst layer is from 0.30 μm to 3.5 μm (inclusive) and the ratio of platinum atoms to the metal atoms contained in the catalyst layer is from 25% by mole to 100% by mole (inclusive). Also provided are: a negative electrode for alkaline water electrolysis; a method for producing the negative electrode; an electrolytic cell which uses the negative electrode; and a hydrogen production method.

L'invention porte sur une électrode négative qui comprend, sur la surface d'un substrat conducteur, une couche de catalyseur qui contient au moins du platine, et qui est caractérisée en ce que : le substrat conducteur est un treillis constitué de fils métalliques qui contiennent un métal contenant du nickel ; (a) le poids par mètre carré de la couche de catalyseur va de 6,0 g/m2 à 40,0 g/m2 (inclus) et le poids par mètre carré de platine va de 5,5 g/m2 à 25,0 g/m2 (inclus), ou (b) l'épaisseur moyenne de la couche de catalyseur va de 0,30 µm à 3,5 µm (inclus) et le rapport des atomes de platine aux atomes métalliques contenus dans la couche de catalyseur va de 25 % en mole à 100 % en mole (inclus). L'invention concerne également : une électrode négative pour l'électrolyse d'eau alcaline ; un procédé de fabrication de l'électrode négative ; une cellule électrolytique qui utilise l'électrode négative ; un procédé de production d'hydrogène.
