Abstract:
(EN) The present invention is directed to processes for preparing a silicone surfactant intercalated clay and a polymer-clay nanocomposite. The processes use silicone surfactants having a molecular weight in the range of 10,000 to 100,000 Dalton to achieve fully exfoliating clay structures. Using these macromolecular silicone surfactants, along with the engineered control of the processing pH and drying stress conditions, this invention provides simple and low-cost methods of making a fully-exfoliated polymer-clay nanocomposite.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés de préparation d'une argile intercalée de tensioactif siliconé et d'un nanocomposite polymère-argile. Les procédés utilisent des tensioactifs siliconés ayant un poids moléculaire dans la plage de 10 000 à 100 000 Daltons pour obtenir des structures d'argile totalement exfoliantes. L'utilisation de ces tensioactifs siliconés macromoléculaires, conjointement avec le contrôle technique des conditions de pH de traitement et de stress de séchage, permet d'obtenir des procédés simples et économiques de fabrication d'un nanocomposite polymère-argile totalement exfolié.
