Abstract:
(EN) A condenser (3) for a vapor compression system includes a shell (10) and a tube bundle (30). The shell (10) has a refrigerant inlet (11a) and a refrigerant outlet (12a). The tube bundle (30) includes a plurality of heat transfer tubes (34a, 34b) disposed inside the shell (10). Refrigerant discharged from the refrigerant inlet (11a) is supplied onto the tube bundle (30). The heat transfer tubes (34a, 34b) extend generally parallel to the longitudinal center axis (C) of the shell (10). The heat transfer tubes (34a, 34b) are arranged to form a first vapor passage (V1, V2, 2V1, 2V2) extending generally vertically along a first passage lengthwise direction (D1, D2, 2D1, 2D2) through at least some of the heat transfer tubes (34a, 34b). The first vapor passage (V1, V2, 2V1, 2V2) has a first minimum width (W1, W2, UW1, UW2, LW1, LW2) measured perpendicularly relative to the first passage lengthwise direction (D1, D2, 2D1, 2D2) and the longitudinal axis (C). The first minimum width (W1, W2, UW1, UW2, LW1, LW2) is larger than a tube diameter (DO) of the heat transfer tubes (34a, 34b), and the first minimum width (W1, W2, UW1, UW2, LW1, LW2) is smaller than four times the tube diameter (DO).
