Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an electronic device for displaying a graphical object for fingerprint input, comprising: a display including a touch panel; a fingerprint sensor formed on at least a part of an area of the display; and a processor, wherein the processor displays a graphical object in a first area which at least includes the at least a part of an area of the fingerprint sensor via the display; obtains fingerprint input through the fingerprint sensor and position information associated with the fingerprint input through the touch panel; and is configured to display the graphical object in a second area which at least includes the at least a part of an area on the basis of at least the position information, and thus when the electronic device obtains fingerprint information of a user, stores the touch information obtained through the touch panel together with the fingerprint information obtained through the fingerprint sensor, and in fingerprint authentication, preferentially matches the fingerprint information corresponding to the touch information, so that the time required for fingerprint recognition can be shortened and the matching speed can be improved. Various embodiments other than the embodiments disclosed in the present invention are possible.
