Title: ALUMINUM ALLOY MAGNETIC DISK SUBSTRATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Abstract:
The present invention provides an aluminum alloy magnetic disk substrate provided with an aluminum alloy base material, which comprises an aluminum alloy containing 0.4-3.0 mass% (hereinafter abbreviated to "%") of Fe, 0.1-3.0% of Mn, 0.005-1.000% of Cu and 0.005-1.000% of Zn, with the remainder comprising Al and unavoidable impurities, and an electroless Ni-P plating layer formed on the surface of the base material, wherein the peak value (BLEI) of Fe luminescent intensity at the interface between the electroless Ni-P plating layer and the aluminum alloy base material, as determined using a glow discharge spectrometer, is lower than the Fe luminescent intensity (AlEI) in the inner part of the aluminum alloy base material, as determined using a glow discharge spectrometer.
