Abstract:
(EN) An optical arrangement includes an optical printed circuit board (OPCB) having at least a first optical waveguide having a first end located on the OPCB. The optical arrangement also includes at least one photonic integrated circuit (PIC) mounted to the OPCB. The PIC includes a second optical waveguide. The first waveguide has a second end located on a portion of the second waveguide to optically couple light between the PIC and the first waveguide. The portion of the second waveguide on which the second end of the first waveguide is located has an inverse taper. The inverse tapered portion is defined by a plurality of segments. The segments of the inverse tapered portion each have a length and a taper rate that causes each segment to make an equal contribution to any radiation losses in the mode transformation of light being coupled between the first and second waveguides.
(FR) Un agencement optique comprend une carte de circuit imprimé optique (CCIO) ayant au moins un premier guide d'ondes optique ayant une première extrémité située sur la CCIO. L'agencement optique comprend également au moins un circuit intégré photonique (CIP) monté sur la CCIO. Le CIP comprend un second guide d'ondes optique. Le premier guide d'ondes a une seconde extrémité située sur une partie du second guide d'ondes pour coupler optiquement la lumière entre le CIP et le premier guide d'ondes. La partie du second guide d'ondes sur laquelle la seconde extrémité du premier guide d'ondes est située a un effilement inverse. La partie conique inverse est définie par une pluralité de segments. Les segments de la partie effilée inverse ont chacun une longueur et un taux de conicité qui amène chaque segment à effectuer une contribution égale à toutes les pertes de rayonnement dans la transformation de mode de la lumière qui est couplée entre les premier et second guides d'ondes.
