Abstract:
(EN) The thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) compositions described herein have biodegradable and/or bioabsorbable hard segments and soft segments. The TPU hard segment is formed from one or more polyisocyanates capable of breaking down into one or more non-toxic degradants and one or more short chain diols capable of breaking down into one or more non-toxic degradants. The TPU soft segment is formed from one or more polyols capable of breaking down into one or more non-toxic degradants. The resulting TPU has a controllable degradation rate and can be formulated to have good physical properties making it ideal for use in medical articles and devices.
(FR) L'invention concerne des compositions de polyuréthane thermoplastique (PUT) qui comportent des segments durs et mous biodégradables et/ou bioabsorbables. Le segment dur en PUT est formé à partir d'un ou de plusieurs polyisocyanates capables de décomposer en un ou plusieurs produits de dégradation non toxiques et un ou plusieurs diols à chaîne courte capables de se décomposer en un ou plusieurs produits de dégradation non toxiques. Le segment mou en PUT est formé à partir d'un ou de plusieurs polyols capables de se décomposer en un ou plusieurs produits de dégradation non toxiques. Le PUT obtenu présente une vitesse de dégradation contrôlable et peut être formulé pour avoir de bonnes propriétés physiques, ce qui le rend idéal pour une utilisation dans des articles et des dispositifs médicaux.
