A method for cleaning carbon black before using it as material for supercapacitor electrode. The method consisting on washing the carbon material with an acid choosen in the group consisting on hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, citric acid, formic acid, acetic acid and oxalic acid. A supercapacitor includes an electrode comprising activated carbon and carbon black particles containing less than or equal to about 100 ppm of calcium. A method includes treating base carbon black particles to form treated carbon black particles containing less than or equal to about 100 ppm of calcium; and using the treated carbon black particles to form an electrode of a supercapacitor. Carbon black particles having a Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET) surface area ranging from 650 m2 /g to 2,050 m 2/g, and comprising less than or equal to about 100 ppm of calcium.

L'invention concerne un procédé de nettoyage de noir de carbone avant de l'utiliser comme matériau pour une électrode de supercondensateur. Ce procédé consiste à laver le matériau de carbone avec un acide choisi dans le groupe comprend l'acide chlorhydrique, l'acide nitrique, l'acide citrique, l'acide formique, l'acide acétique et l'acide oxalique. L'invention concerne également un supercondensateur comportant une électrode comprenant du charbon actif et des particules de noir de carbone contenant une quantité inférieure ou égale à environ 100 ppm de calcium. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé comprenant le traitement de particules de noir de carbone de base pour former des particules de noir de carbone traitées contenant une quantité inférieure ou égale à environ 100 ppm de calcium; et l'utilisation des particules de noir de carbone traitées pour former une électrode d'un supercondensateur. L'invention concerne également des particules de noir de carbone ayant une surface spécifique Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) comprise entre 650 m2/g et 2 050 m2/g, et comprenant une quantité inférieure ou égale à environ 100 ppm de calcium.
