Title: SPATIAL OPTICAL COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND METHOD
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a spatial optical communication device that can transmit uplink light waves with high accuracy without the use of a laser guide star by measuring and compensating for variations in the atmosphere. [Solution] The present invention comprises: a transmission light wave generating means that generates transmission light waves that are to be transmitted to an artificial satellite 11; a telescope 20 provided with an aperture that can collect reception light waves emitted from the artificial satellite 11 and that can collect path propagation light which has propagated through space containing a propagation path of transmission light waves generated by the transmission light wave generating means and guided to the artificial satellite; a wavefront sensor 25 that detects wavefront distortion of the reception light waves and path propagation light collected by the telescope 20; a control unit 26 that generates a control signal on the basis of the wavefront distortion detected by the wavefront sensor 25; and a variable shape mirror 23 that corrects the propagation path on the basis of the control signal generated by the control unit 26 in order to guide the transmission light waves to the artificial satellite 11 via the telescope.
